Welcome to ArchaeoReiter!

I am a research archaeologist working with identity, migration, ancient (and not-so-ancient) times, bodies and the relationship between past and present. Most of all, I believe that (pre)history can--and should--influence our daily world.

On a day-to-day basis, I am employed as Senior Researcher in Osteoarchaeology at the National Museum of Denmark, where I am lucky enough to work with everything from the remains of Mesolithic cannibals' meals and Viking sorceresses to column chemistry for the study of prehistoric migration and non-biological human remains from the Second World War (and lots of things inbetween, too!).

My passion is for sharing what I love about archaeology and making it relevant.

Where in the world?

I have done fieldwork throughout Europe as well as in the Near East, US and Bermuda on a variety of sites, including a Roman harbour, historic shipwrecks, early tell sites and medieval castles, often as excavation leadership for international teams.
